| Primetime Show Reviews 'He Loves Me' review by Suzanne This is not a good movie. I will say that flat out. It's terrible. That is a real shame because it had potential, and that was wasted. Heather Locklear and the other actors do fine jobs in it. It's just the plot that is God-awful. Without giving it away, let me say this: what ruins the movie for me is Locklear's character and how she behaves. The first half of the movie, she is kind of weird and whiny, and not someone I liked too much, but about half way through the movie something happens that causes me to lose all sympathy for her. Then, for a little while, things are very interesting, and I sort of forget about whether I care about her or not, because the plot takes interesting twists and turns...then the ending is really awful. Just really really bad. If you are a huge Heather Locklear fan, maybe you will like the movie, but I doubt it. Okay, here is some SPOILER SPACE so I can go into more detail, for those of you who don't care about spoilers. **********************************SPOILER SPACE******************************* Imagine if you were watching the movie 'Fatal Attraction', only, instead of dying at the end, Glenn Close's character kills the wife and ends up with the husband and kids, and they don't even suspect that she did it. That's how bad this movie is. Oh, and sorry, but Heather Locklear is no Glenn Close! Even if she is prettier... At first, you just think Locklear's character, a real estate agent named Laura, is cheating on her husband, and she has a few problems, and she had a hard childhood. Then about halfway through the movie, she starts stalking the woman that she thinks her husband is cheating on her with. Never mind that she's already cheating on him! Or so we think. She gets into a fight with this woman, and the woman gets hung (it's more or less an accident, but Laura does not do anything to help her or stop what is going on). That's when I pretty much lost all sympathy for her. I mean, she's the heroine of this movie, and now she's a murderer. I have a big problem with that. So I had to stop watching the movie and then come back a little while later and pick it up again (only because Lifetime asks me to review their movies-- otherwise I would have changed the channel and never come back). Then we start seeing that ALL IS NOT AS IT SEEMS. We figure out that Laura is even more messed-up than we thought, and some of the things that we thought were going on, like her cheating on her husband, may all be in her head. That's when it got kind of interesting, for a while, because then it's like a puzzle, figuring out who or what is real, and you think, well, maybe she didn't really kill that woman, or maybe she will go to jail, but she'll at least get some help and be healed. But no. Things get much worse, she kills more people, and things get more and more stupid. Her psychiatrist, who suspects that Laura may be disturbed, meets her in some dark alley, and Laura kills her. I mean, come on, how stupid could this woman be? That was totally ridiculous. Somehow I doubt many psychiatrists do something that stupid. Then, at the end, we see that Laura was not really married to the man, and she stalks him, and the movie ends with them meeting and making nice, and she may actually end up with him. She doesn't go to jail or get any kind of punishment, even though she's killed three people!! I hate when they have contrived plot or have people acting stupid. It was a completely disappointing ending. What a terrible, terrible, movie. It's so sad that anyone thought that it was worth putting on TV in this fashion. Usually I enjoy Lifetime movies. Not this one! PRESS RELEASE: HEATHER LOCKLEAR STARS IN LIFETIME ORIGINAL MOVIE HE LOVES ME, PREMIERING MONDAY, MARCH 7 LOS ANGELES, CA (February 8, 2011) -- Entertainment icon Heather Locklear (Lifetime’s Flirting with Forty, Melrose Place) and Max Martini (The Unit) star in the Lifetime Original Movie He Loves Me, premiering Monday, March 7 at 9pm ET/PT. The psychological thriller follows the story of a woman whose seemingly perfect life begins to fall apart after discovering her husband is cheating on her, leading her on a path of murder and destruction. ABOUT HE LOVES ME By all appearances in He Loves Me, Laura (Locklear) believes she leads the idyllic life. She’s a successful Seattle real estate agent, presumably happily married to one of the city’s leading cardiologists and mother to their darling six year old daughter. When Laura begins to suspect her husband is cheating on her, she is devastated by his infidelity, despite having a torrid affair of her own. Desperately trying to save her marriage, Laura’s mysterious past begins to emerge, making her more paranoid, delusional and violent in alarming ways. As her mental state continues to unravel, whoever gets in the way of Laura’s myriad of fantasies becomes expendable -- no matter who they are – revealing the shocking dream world that insulates her from reality.
